Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate physician educator to serve as an Associate Program Director (APD) for our Interna Medicine Residency Program, with primary clinical responsibility in the ambulatory setting. This role is ideal for a clinician passionate about advancing primary care education, mentoring future leaders in outpatient medicine, and shaping innovative training models that address the evolving needs of healthcare delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Educational Leadership
Create and implement curricula
Lead didactic sessions/journal clubs, create and facilitate case-based learning sessions, and assist learners in creating individualized learning plans
Lead quality improvement initiatives and assist residents with scholarly activities
Participate in recruitment and selection of residency applicants
Serve on residency committees such as the Clinical Competency Committee and the Program Evaluation Committee
Assist in execution of Internal Medicine clerkship educational activities
Program Administration
Assist the Program Director in overall residency program operations, including accreditation, evaluation, and strategic planning.
Monitor and assess resident performance and progression, providing individualized feedback and support.
Contribute to faculty development initiatives and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Clinical Practice
Maintain an active outpatient internal medicine practice, where clinical time is split between your own panel of patients, and precepting residents/students.
Serve as a role model for residents in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
Utilize EPIC EHR and Tiger Text for streamlined communication and documentation.
Qualifications:
MD, DO, or MBBS degree with board certification in Internal Medicine.
Eligibility for medical licensure in Arizona.
Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in outpatient internal medicine or academic primary care.
Prior experience in graduate medical education or curriculum development preferred.
Preferred Attributes:
